Sash Clamp Heads

A low cost alternative to full size bar clamps, these clamp heads can be easily fitted onto any length of wooden batten with a cross section of 50 x 25mm (2 x 1in). A light-duty clamp, as long and strong as the timber used, is quickly produced by drilling two holes to accommodate the clamp heads.

To be used at any size up to 1000mm what should the mounting hole spacing be?

The clamp thread has 75mm of adjustment. I would suggest drilling holes 70mm apart to allow a little for hole distortion under pressure.
