The Faithfull 778 plane is designed to cut rebates up to 38mm (1.1/2in). It is guided by an adjustable fence supported on two guide rod that can be pushed through which allows the fence to be used on either side of the plane.
The plane features a quality cast iron body with accurately ground base, two position cutter for rebate and bull nose work, a double sided adjustable fence, a spur for cross grain cutting and is supplied with an accurate depth stop.
A twin position cutter enhances the versatility of this plane. With the cutter in the centre position, the plane can be used for cutting rebates, and has a fine screw adjuster for precise control of the depth of cut. With the cutter moved to the front position, the plane can also be used for cutting into corners (bullnose work).
The cutting spur is of a rotatable disc style. Loosen the screw and prise the spur away from plane body with small flat bladed screwdriver. Rotate so the round edge protrudes from the plane base and retighten screw.
Blade will require honing before use.
5-year guarantee.

I have just received the plane. At a first glance, nice. But the Spur do not come with the place. Only the screw. No ona spur.

I've just received the plane and first looks to be a right nice plane. The finish is well done. I eased the sharp edges and the bed is flat. I really like the pebble like finish on the handle. I have not yet honed the blade so I do not know if I'll have to do a little fetteling on the chip breaker groove. The only con' that I have is that the cutting spur was missing from the plane. The screw was there, but no spur. I looked through the packaging again but had no luck. Oh well, it's not a deal breaker. I'll cut cross grain with a knife.

There are no questions for 778 Rebate Plane in Wooden Box
The cutting spur is of a rotatable disc style rather than the 3 prong style seen on similar planes. The spur is machined flush with the plane body and can be difficult to see at first glance.
To engage the spur:- Loosen the screw and prise the spur away from plane body with small flat bladed screwdriver. Rotate so the round edge protrudes from the plane base and retighten screw.
