A small, pocket sized damp and moisture meter that can be used to measure the moisture content in timber, paper, cardboard and hard materials such as mortar, concrete and plaster.

The moisture content is displayed as a percentage reading on the LCD digital display that is equipped with a backlit function for use in dark environments. The meter can also be used to measure the ambient temperature and is compact, portable and easy to use. The meter is supplied in with a probe cover for safe storage when not in use.

I would give a 5 star rating but as other comments have stated there is no guide as to what percentages are deemed to be acceptable or at what point you have a problem.

Great little device, only snag is now I have readings I have no idea whether the damp % percentage is good bad or indifferent. What is the optimum figure within various types of material would be helpful

Totally agree with other reviews I was expecting higher readings, max. 2% seems pointless and the instructions assume we know how to read them. I have been told that a 5-10 % reading is regarded as OK so you can see why I am confused. Sorry am going back to the store for a refund.

Seems to work alright - but the instructions give no clue as to how to interpret the readings. Also the display zeros as soon as you take it away from the place you are measuring, so you have to be looking at the display as you are taking the reading, which high on a wall can be challenging! Looking on websites about damp a 5% damp area is not deemed to be as serious issue - the instructions say it only measures up to 2% - I need an explanation as to how to interpret the readings.
